Full job descriptionWe are recruiting on behalf of a growing supported housing organisation in Wiltshire that provides accommodation and support to ex-military veterans, helping to reduce homelessness and support residents as they transition back into civilian life.

The organisation currently operates a 44-unit supported housing scheme and has ambitious plans to expand its services. They are now looking for an experienced Supported Housing Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the scheme and lead the on-site team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to join an organisation at an exciting stage of its development and play a key role in its continued growth.

Key Responsibilities of a Supported Housing Manager:*Take overall day-to-day responsibility for the 44-unit supported housing scheme.
*Manage and support the on-site team, including Housing Support Workers, administration staff and a caretaker.
*Provide effective leadership, guidance and supervision to the team.
*Oversee the delivery of supported housing and intensive housing management.
*Ensure effective processes are in place for resident sign-ups, move-ins, welfare checks, risk assessments and tenancy management.
*Oversee housing administration, records, compliance and case management.
*Ensure residents receive appropriate support with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and wider welfare matters.
*Monitor rent, tenancy and housing management issues and ensure these are dealt with appropriately.
*Ensure the service operates in line with safeguarding, health and safety, compliance and organisational procedures.
*Liaise with local authorities, housing teams, benefits departments and external agencies.
*Develop and improve systems and processes across the supported housing service.
*Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and contribute to the organisation’s expansion plans.
*Maintain high standards across the scheme and ensure issues are identified and resolved promptly.
Candidate Requirements:*Previous experience managing a supported housing, supported accommodation or housing service.
*Experience managing or supervising a small multidisciplinary team.
*Strong understanding of supported housing and intensive housing management.
*Good knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and the wider benefits system.
*Experience managing housing administration, tenancy processes and compliance.
*Understanding of tenancy sustainment, safeguarding, risk management and resident welfare.
*Experience working within a housing association, local authority, homelessness service or supported housing provider.
*Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
*Confident managing staff, residents and external stakeholders.
*Ability to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a housing service.
*Empathetic, resilient and professional, with the ability to manage challenging situations.
*Experience supporting veterans or ex-military personnel would be advantageous.
*A proactive approach with the ability to help develop and grow the service.
