An established and growing organisation with a significant property portfolio is seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to lead a range of new-build, redevelopment and capital investment projects. Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Property, you will take ownership of development projects from initial feasibility through to construction, completion and handover. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget while meeting strategic business objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing projects throughout the full development life-cycle, from concept and feasibility through to final handover.
Leading project planning, governance and programme delivery.
Coordinating feasibility studies, site assessments and due diligence activities.
Managing multidisciplinary design teams including architects, engineers, planners and specialist consultants.
Overseeing planning applications and statutory approvals.
Procuring and managing contractors, consultants and professional advisers.
Monitoring programme performance, quality standards and project risks.
Managing development budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost plans.
Producing financial reports and presenting project updates to senior stakeholders.
Building and maintaining relationships with local authorities, planning bodies, contractors and external stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with planning, environmental, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
Supporting portfolio growth, redevelopment opportunities and strategic investment initiatives.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Proven experience delivering property development projects through the full project life-cycle.
Strong project planning, programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience managing budgets, cost control and financial reporting.
Knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.
Strong commercial awareness and risk management capabilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
The following would be advantageous:
Experience in development appraisal and feasibility analysis.
Knowledge of planning and development management.
Understanding of construction contracts and procurement routes.
Sustainability and ESG experience.
Professional qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP.
Membership of a professional body such as RICS, CIOB or APM.
Experience managing large-scale or mixed-use developments.
