Full job descriptionPurchasing Co-ordinatorAre you an organised and commercially minded purchasing professional who enjoys keeping things moving behind the scenes?
We’re working with an established manufacturing business that is looking to appoint a Purchasing Co-ordinator to support its procurement operation.
This is a varied entry level role combining purchasing administration, supplier management, order management and procurement support, working closely with the wider business to make sure materials, services and supplier commitments are delivered when required.
The roleYou’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the purchasing function, making sure orders are raised and managed accurately, suppliers are kept on track and any potential issues are identified and communicated before they impact the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing purchase orders from creation through to completion, including amendments and expediting
*Monitoring supplier deliveries and lead times, escalating potential delays where necessary
*Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure purchasing requirements are met
*Supporting the procurement of indirect goods and services
*Assisting with supplier and contract administration
*Supporting the management of supplier performance information and scorecards
*Producing purchasing and month-end reports
*Maintaining accurate procurement records and systems
*Supporting quotation and information-gathering exercises
*Helping identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and achieve better value
*Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and wider group
What we’re looking forThis could suit someone with experience in purchasing, procurement administration, buying or supply chain coordination who is now looking for a role with broader responsibility.
You’ll need to be:
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
*Accurate and comfortable managing a high volume of information
*Confident communicating with both suppliers and internal stakeholders
*Proactive, with the ability to identify and flag potential issues
*Commercially aware and interested in achieving value for the business
*Comfortable working to deadlines and managing competing priorities
*A good team player who is flexible and willing to get involved
*Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
