Job Description:
Full job descriptionA leading UK organisation is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Buyer to join its growing Procurement team.
This position offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-value sourcing and tendering activities across key spend areas.
Working closely with Category Managers and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering procurement strategies, driving commercial value, ensuring compliance, and establishing effective supplier partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and tendering activities for high-value and business-critical requirements.
*Manage complex procurement exercises from planning through to contract award and implementation.
*Gather and analyse market intelligence to support sourcing decisions and category strategies.
*Engage effectively with stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives.
*Develop high-quality tender and sourcing documentation.
*Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve commercial value and risk mitigation.
*Establish and implement new contractual arrangements.
*Support supplier engagement and relationship management activities.
*Ensure procurement activities are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, governance requirements, and procurement best practice.
*Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and wider procurement transformation projects.
*Maintain strong commercial knowledge and awareness of procurement trends and best practices.
About You
We’re looking for procurement professionals who can demonstrate:
*A relevant degree and/or progress towards a professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS).
*Experience delivering complex, multi-stage tendering and sourcing projects.
*Strong commercial acumen and contract management knowledge.
*Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
*Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities.
*The ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
*Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
*A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
