Job Description:
Full job descriptionIT Business Analyst | Requirements, Process Mapping and SDLC | Slough
£40,000 to £45,000
Hybrid, three days a week in Slough.
This role needs an experienced Business Analyst who can run requirements work independently from day one.
You should already be confident gathering and documenting requirements, mapping processes, working in JIRA and Confluence, and supporting change through Agile or Kanban delivery and the SDLC.
Financial services experience is not essential, but it will be a strong advantage. If you have worked as a BA in banking, lending, consumer finance, insurance or another regulated financial environment, your background will be particularly relevant.
Why This Opportunity
You will join an established IT change team, working between business stakeholders and technical delivery.
The role covers the full requirements lifecycle, from discovery and stakeholder interviews through to documentation, validation, testing and sign-off.
A key early priority will be learning the organisation’s application suite in depth and building the knowledge to become a trusted subject matter expert.
Could This Be You?
You may currently be an IT Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Change Business Analyst or Technology Business Analyst.
The strongest fit will be someone with several years of demonstrable BA experience who is used to taking ownership without close direction.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
*Several years of hands-on Business Analyst experience.
*Evidence of independently leading requirements from discovery through to sign-off.
*Strong process mapping and requirements documentation skills.
*Practical experience using JIRA and Confluence.
*Strong working knowledge of Agile or Kanban delivery.
*A good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
*Experience translating business problems into clear requirements for technical teams.
*Experience supporting testing and UAT.
*Strong stakeholder communication skills.
*Excellent written and spoken English.
*Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Highly Desirable:
*Financial services experience, particularly banking, lending, consumer finance, insurance or another regulated financial environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Lead requirements workshops and stakeholder interviews.
*Turn business needs into clear functional requirements and user stories.
*Map and improve business processes.
*Maintain accurate requirements and project documentation.
*Support solution design and system change.
*Work closely with QA and business teams through UAT.
*Resolve requirement gaps during delivery.
*Build deep application knowledge and become a go-to SME.
Why You’ll Enjoy It Here
You will be trusted to run your work independently, work closely with senior stakeholders and build genuine expertise in the systems you support.
