Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and reach their potential?Thrive Education is looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our team and work on a supply basis within schools and specialist settings across South Gloucestershire.
We are particularly interested in hearing from Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or who have a genuine passion for working with pupils who may require additional support.
The RoleAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils who experience challenges with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, social development or engagement with education.
Depending on the setting and individual needs of the pupils, your responsibilities may include:
*Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
*Supporting pupils to engage positively with learning.
*Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
*Helping pupils manage emotions and develop appropriate coping strategies.
*Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to make good choices.
*Working alongside teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support.
*Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
*Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom where required.

Previous experience within an SEMH, SEN, PRU, alternative provision, care or youth work setting would be highly advantageous, but we are also interested in hearing from candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude.
