Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Are you looking for a rewarding new opportunity in Milton Keynes where you can make a genuine difference to pupils’ education, confidence and development?
Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who is confident working with pupils who require additional support and is looking for a long-term position with the potential to become permanent.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, working with small groups or providing support within the classroom, depending on the needs of the school and individual pupils.
The role will involve:
*Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, helping them to access learning and participate positively in school life.
*Supporting pupils with a range of needs, which may include ASC, SEMH, ADHD, communication and learning difficulties.
*Helping to implement individual support strategies, differentiated activities and personalised learning plans.
*Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
*Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
*Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
*Supporting pupils both academically and socially, helping them to develop essential life and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
*Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
*A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
*The ability to build strong relationships with pupils who may require additional encouragement and support.
*Good communication and teamwork skills.
*The confidence to adapt their approach to meet individual pupils’ needs.
*A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Experience within a mainstream school, SEN setting, alternative provision, residential setting, youth work or care environment would be highly advantageous. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification are desirable but not essential where suitable experience is demonstrated.
