Full job descriptionJoin our dedicated team at Sheaf Training, where we are committed to providing support to young people with High Needs. As an Education Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in removing barriers to learning and promoting effective participation in education, preparing young people for adulthood. This role involves supporting diverse areas of learning such as Skills for Independence, Health, Happiness and Belonging, Employment and Work-Related Learning, Becoming Aspirational, Foundations for Life, and Maths and English.
Day-to-day of the role:*Support and facilitate the delivery of education programmes to small groups and individuals under the direction of tutors/managers.
*Ensure that learners are kept safe at all times.
*Be responsible for ensuring that work undertaken within the service area is conducted in line with statutory regulations and within Service Area, Directorate, and wider Council guidance and best practice.
*Engage with young people to encourage their participation and progress in various educational activities.
*Monitor and report on the learners’ progress to tutors and managers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:*Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
*Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people with High Needs.
*Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Commitment to professional development and learning.
*Relevant qualifications in education or social care are desirable.
