Hays Education is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a busy secondary school in Middlesbrough on a full-time, temporary basis for approximately 4-5 weeks, with an immediate start.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Key Responsibilities
*Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment, materials and specimens for practical lessons
*Supporting teaching staff with the safe delivery of experiments and demonstrations
*Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring it is in good working order
*Managing stock levels and ordering supplies as required
*Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and COSHH regulations
*Safely handling, storing and disposing of chemicals and hazardous materials
About You
*Previous experience as a Science Technician (school setting preferred)
*A relevant science qualification or background is desirable
*Strong organisational skills and a methodical, safety-conscious approach
*Knowledge of health and safety and COSHH procedures within a laboratory environment
*Reliable, proactive and able to work as part of a team
Essential Requirement
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential for this role.
