Reception Teaching Assistant Required in Pontefract

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Early Years education?

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Pontefract. This is a long-term position with an immediate start and will continue on an ongoing basis while the school recruits permanently.

For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to become a permanent position.
The Role

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils in their first year of school. You will help create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment, supporting children with their academic, social, and emotional development.

Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting teaching and learning within the Reception classroom
*Working with small groups and individual pupils
*Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
*Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
*Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development
*Helping to prepare and organise classroom resources
*Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:
*Has previous experience working within an Early Years or Primary school setting
*Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
*Has a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum
*Is enthusiastic, patient, and nurturing
*Can work effectively as part of a team
*Is committed to helping children achieve their full potential
