Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Horbury to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class on a full-time, long-term basis.
This role is ideally suited to a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The class has a high level of additional needs, therefore experience working with pupils who require tailored support strategies is essential.
The Role
*Support pupils within a Year 3 classroom, both individually and in small groups.
*Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
*Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs.
*Help implement individual support plans and interventions.
*Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence.
*Contribute to a positive, nurturing and structured learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
*Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
*Essential experience supporting pupils with SEN.
*Understanding of a range of additional needs and effective support strategies.
*Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
*A patient, positive and proactive approach.
*An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
