Full job descriptionNuStaff are looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert to join the Business Systems Improvement Team, supporting users and driving forward improvements to critical operational systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with strong business analysis skills to make a real impact across the organisation, working at the heart of how the business uses and develops its core systems.
You’ll join a collaborative team where your insight will directly shape how frontline and back-office users interact with essential systems, and where your recommendations will influence decisions across both Forces.
The RoleAs Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will act as a key advisor to the business on the usage and development of Niche and Pronto, providing a strategic focus on priorities across both Forces. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to scope, design and test continuous improvements and developments, while also undertaking some technical configuration of systems in agreement with ICT.
This role requires significant knowledge of the business areas directly impacted by the RMS system, alongside strong communication and analytical skills to translate business needs into effective, workable solutions.
Key Responsibilities*Providing day-to-day business support, including identifying and resolving system errors and faults, and responding to user queries
*Supporting wider projects and cross-team initiatives
*Scoping user requirements for business improvements and developments
*Developing solutions and system changes to meet business requirements
*Working with third-party suppliers to develop solutions and improvements
*Undertaking complex testing of developments, system upgrade regression, technical changes and functionality
*Providing specialist advice and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation
*Coordinating and facilitating user groups through proactive, two-way engagement, documenting and prioritising requirements
This list is not exhaustive, and there may be a requirement to undertake other duties commensurate with the role, including informal guidance or training of new colleagues.
What We’re Looking For*Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant work-based experience
*Extensive operational and technical knowledge of Niche and Pronto operational systems, or similar/equivalent systems experience
*Operational knowledge of business areas directly impacted by RMS (such as Crime, Intel, Safeguarding, Custody)
*Proven negotiating skills, with the ability to influence and persuade using evidence and build strong professional relationships
*Demonstrable evaluation and analytical skills
*Strong communication and presentation skills
*Proven ability to draft accurate, detailed reports
*Experience working effectively within cross-disciplinary teams
Rates & Hours*PAYE Rate: £19.78 per hour
*Umbrella Rate: £26.02 per hour
*Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
