Shift Pattern - 29 hours of shift in a week | Monday to Friday working


We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Payroll, Pensions & HR Administrator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on delivering excellent customer service, and takes pride in ensuring payroll and administrative processes are completed accurately and on time.
About the RoleAs a Payroll, Pensions & HR Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting payroll and pension administration activities for council and school employees. You will be responsible for processing routine payroll tasks, maintaining accurate records, responding to employee queries, and providing administrative support to ensure a high-quality service is delivered.
You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation and be a trusted point of contact for payroll-related enquiries, handling sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and empathy.
Key Responsibilities*Support the processing of payroll and pension administration activities in line with agreed procedures and deadlines.
*Respond to payroll-related queries via telephone, email and other communication channels.
*Provide clear and accurate information to employees regarding basic payroll matters.
*Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
*Assist with routine HR administration tasks as required.
*Prioritise workloads effectively to meet multiple deadlines and changing business needs.
*Ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll and employee information.
*Contribute to continuous improvements in administrative processes and service delivery.
*Work collaboratively within the team to achieve service objectives while also being able to manage tasks independently.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous experience in a payroll, HR administration, pensions administration, customer service or similar administrative role.
*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
*Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*A customer-focused approach with the confidence to communicate professionally with employees and stakeholders.
*The ability to explain payroll information clearly and sensitively.
*A proactive attitude with the ability to work on your own initiative.
*Resilience, flexibility and adaptability when managing changing priorities.
*A positive team-working approach and willingness to support colleagues.
