Contract Consultant - Royal Mail Peak Season

Location: Cardiff Outhouse Mail Centre (on-site)
Contract: Fixed Term for the duration of 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible rota, Monday to Sunday
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (pro rata)

About the Role

Pertemps is looking for a proactive and organised Contract Consultant to support our Royal Mail operation at Cardiff Outhouse Mail Centre during the busy peak season.

This fast-paced role combines recruitment, workforce planning and onsite worker query management to ensure staffing requirements are met and a positive experience is delivered to both our client and temporary workforce.

Key Responsibilities

*Advertising vacancies and attracting suitable candidates.


*Screening and selecting candidates in line with client and legal requirements.


*Managing candidate onboarding, including registrations, inductions and compliance checks, ensuring all candidates meet legal, compliance and contractual requirements, including Right to Work verification.


*Allocating shifts and managing workforce schedules to meet operational demands, proactively planning staffing levels while responding effectively to changing business needs and last-minute requirements.


*Monitoring attendance, absence and worker performance.


*Building strong relationships with Royal Mail managers and temporary workers.


*Providing onsite support and resolving workforce issues effectively, escalating worker queries as needed.


*Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with Pertemps and client procedures.


Role Requirements

*Previous recruitment or workforce planning experience is required


*Strong organisational and communication skills.


*Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.


*Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance.


*Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
