Full job descriptionAn opportunity has arisen within the Governance, Projects and Collaboration Team for an experienced Administrator Receptionist based at the Headquarters on Eyre Street in Sheffield. You will join a customer focused team delivering a high-quality service to the public and the staff.

Location: Headquarters, Eyre Street, Sheffield S1
Hours: Full Time – 37 Hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 12:00pm – 12:30pm to 4:30pm Friday: 8:30am to 12:00pm – 12:30pm to 4:00pm
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £25,949 - £25,989 per annum (Grade 3) *To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026.
You will be responsible for maintaining the reception area, providing a professional customer service welcome using your excellent communication skills to be the first point of contact for visitors to their building and answering calls to their switchboard, providing assistance and information.
You will be able to manage multiple tasks and organise your working day around immediate customer service priorities. Using your Microsoft Office and administrative skills, you will respond promptly to email requests for information, deal with internal and external mail, and help maintain the building’s photocopier facilities.
You will additionally support the Information Officer in creating communications, collect and manage data using Excel spreadsheets and ensure information is published on the Service Intranet.
To be considered for the role, you should have proven customer service experience and excellent communication skills within a reception environment. You should also hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in Customer Service and/or Administration, alongside strong organisational and administrative skills and experience of using Microsoft Office applications particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. The employer offers 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years’ service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. They also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.

It is a defined benefit pension scheme that means pensions are based on salary and the length of paying into the scheme. 1/49th of your pensionable salary is added to your pot per year plus cost of living adjustments.
