Our charitable organisation is seeking a highly skilled Director of Research to lead our clients insights and content strategy. Operating at the intersection of journalism, academic research, publishing, and political analysis, the successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of the financial markets and the professionals working within them.

Preferred Skills & Experience
*Editorial Leadership: Previous experience in an editorial role, including identifying and commissioning material from external contributors and readers.
*Industry Background: A strong background in banking and finance, with a preferred 5–6 years of experience in an editorial or similar industry role.
*Financial Writing: Proven experience working as a specialized writer within financial fields, showcasing exceptional writing skills.
*Academic Credentials: Educated to degree level, ideally in a finance, economics, journalism, or a related subject.
*Data & Analytics: Ability to work confidently with complex data and statistics, research historical data, and identify long-term trends.
*Monetary Policy Expertise: In-depth knowledge and understanding of central banking systems and their role in domestic monetary policy.
*Prestige Network: Previous experience working for or collaborating with major economic institutions, national statistical bodies, or global financial media outlets is highly advantageous.
*Team Management: Proven management skills with direct experience overseeing and developing people.
*Current Affairs: A keen, demonstrated interest in political and economic current affairs.
Essential Skills:
It is essential you have worked in research in economics, ideally Bank of England or somewhere similar, with contacts across the sector and is a subject matter expert in this specialist area.
*Previous experience in an editorial role, including identifying and commissioning material from contributors/readers
*Educated to Degree level, ideally in a related subject
*Previous experience working as a writer in financial fields
*Background in banking and finance
*Specialist writing skills
*Ability to work with data and statistics
*Keen interest in current affairs
*Ability to research and analyse historical data and identify trends
*In depth knowledge and understanding of the role of the Bank of England in UK monetary policy.
