Full job descriptionSenior Lighting ConsultantOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Consultant to join our growing Lighting team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The role can be based in Nottingham, Birmingham, or Leicestershire, with flexible working arrangements available.
As a Senior Lighting Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments across a diverse range of projects. You will also manage projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Lighting team.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:*Deliver street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments.
*Conduct lighting analysis, modelling, and surveys, including mitigation strategies.
*Produce high-quality reports, design models, drawings, and calculations.
*Use software such as Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
*Undertake site visits, surveys, and investigations as required.
*Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and other stakeholders.
*Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and industry standards.
*Support business development activities, including fee proposals and client care.
Project Management:*Manage lighting projects across various sectors, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
*Prepare and agree on fee proposals, project scopes, and delivery schedules.
*Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for future work.
Team and Line Management:*Mentor and develop junior team members, including graduates and apprentices.
*Conduct performance reviews, training plans, and regular one-to-one meetings.
*Promote a positive and inclusive team culture, focusing on employee wellbeing.
Qualifications*Proven experience in lighting design, impact assessments, and/or daylight assessments.
*Proficiency in Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
*Strong project management skills, including budgeting and client liaison.
*Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
*Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including CDM Regulations 2015.
*Valid CSCS card and a full UK driving licence.
*Willingness to travel nationally for site visits and meetings.
Day-to-Day*Develop and deliver lighting designs and assessments for a variety of projects.
*Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and provide practical solutions.
*Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
*Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
*Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team’s professional development.
