I am working with a fantastically well-run, friendly primary school in Tameside that is looking to appoint a temporary SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the educational journey of children with additional needs while working within a highly supportive and inclusive school environment.
What you’ll be doing:
*Providing dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within Key Stage 2 classrooms
*Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes
*Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to help them achieve their academic, social and emotional goals
*Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs
*Promoting confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning
*Supporting the development of communication, social and emotional skills through positive interactions
*Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to assessments and review meetings where appropriate
*Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Who we’re looking for:
*Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a primary school setting
*Knowledge of a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
*A patient, compassionate and resilient approach to supporting children
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
*A proactive and flexible attitude with the confidence to use your initiative
*Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and ensuring every child reaches their full potential
