Robert Half are exclusively partnering with a growing, privately owned Manchester-based business to appoint a commercially minded Finance Director.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to take ownership of an established finance function and play a key role in shaping how finance supports the wider business.
The successful candidate will have a genuine opportunity to modernise and transform the finance function, driving improvements across processes, systems, reporting and management information, while helping create a more efficient and commercially focused finance operation.
Working closely with the Managing Director and wider Senior Leadership Team, you will also act as a key commercial sounding board, providing insight, challenge and financial direction to support profitability and future growth.
The role
*Lead and develop the finance function.
*Own budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial planning.
*Provide commercially focused insight to the SLT.
*Identify and deliver opportunities to automate and improve finance processes.
*Modernise management information and reporting.
*Strengthen financial controls and governance.
*Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, margins and profitability.
*Review and develop the finance team and wider finance structure.
*Support the continued development of financial systems and technology.
*Take a hands-on approach to the role, getting into the detail when required and leading from the front.
The person
We are looking for a forward-thinking, commercially minded Finance Director who enjoys improving businesses and making a tangible difference.
You will ideally have:
*Senior finance leadership experience within an SME or mid-market environment.
*Strong commercial and strategic acumen.
*A proven track record of process improvement and/or finance transformation.
*Experience improving automation, systems or reporting.
*Strong budgeting, forecasting and management information experience.
*The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
*A hands-on approach with a genuine willingness to roll your sleeves up and get involved.
*Ideally, you will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, although QBE candidates with the right experience will be considered.
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, engineering, construction or another project-led environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
What’s on offer?
*£90,000-£110,000 salary
*Discretionary Bonus
*Enhanced benefits package
*Hybrid working, 3 days in the office
*Genuine opportunity to shape and transform the finance function
*Direct exposure to the SLT
*A commercially influential position with significant autonomy
*Opportunity to make a visible impact on the future direction of the business
This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Director who wants to be more than the head of finance and play a genuine role in shaping the future of a successful business.
