Full job descriptionWorking on some of the largest Energy and Power projects in Scotland for the next 10 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to transfer from another Tier 1 contractor into the Energy sector.


Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 basic + Car + Bonus
Location: Glasgow
Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to manage the end-to-end subcontract procurement process, taking initial stakeholder requirements through to contract award.
Sitting within the largest frameworks in Scotland, delivering £3 billion of projects in the next 5 years, you will be part of the procurement team driving strategic supply chain initiatives. You will work closely with project teams to develop procurement strategies that deliver a strong subcontractor supply chain.
Key duties include:
• Managing procurement activities, including EOI, PQQ, ITT, contractor scoring and contract awards.
• Owning subcontractor supply chain segmentation and managing the database to build robust subcontract packages.
• Regularly reviewing and refreshing the subcontractor supply chain to ensure aligned performance.
• Leading supply chain bid inputs, tender lists and post-award subcontractor assessments.
• Identifying supply chain innovations to differentiate and continuously improve project delivery.


This role is perfect for someone in the Civil Engineering sector, perhaps working for a Tier 1 contractor in a sector that has not had the spending power of the Energy sector. Relevant sector experience could include:
• Rail
• Highways
• Water
• Environmental, coastal or flood defence.
Experience / Qualifications
• Commitment to, or actively studying toward, CIPS or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience as a Senior Buyer within the infrastructure sector.
• Solid understanding of subcontract terms, bid management and contract negotiation.


You must be eligible to work in the UK and living in the local area to be considered for this position.
