JOB TITLE: Commercial Litigation Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 5+
LOCATION: Manchester
SALARY: c£80,000 (DOE)
THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate or experienced Commercial Litigation Associate ready to progress into their first Senior Associate position. You will handle a varied caseload of commercial disputes, working closely with experienced colleagues to deliver strategic and commercially focused solutions for a broad range of clients. Your caseload will include contract disputes, shareholder and director disputes, professional negligence, debt recovery and breach of warranty matters, alongside involvement in high value, multi party and complex litigation. You will be responsible for drafting pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and settlement documentation, as well as conducting legal research, preparing advice and developing litigation strategies. The role will also involve pre-action correspondence, negotiation and ADR including mediation, together with attending hearings, conferences and client meetings. There will be a strong emphasis on client relationships, with the opportunity to provide pragmatic advice that balances legal risk with wider commercial objectives.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to business development through networking, articles, presentations and training, while supporting the development of junior colleagues.
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ PQE and a strong background in commercial litigation, with experience managing their own complex caseload. You will have strong technical, drafting and analytical skills, together with excellent communication and client care abilities.
You will be commercially minded, highly organised and confident dealing with business owners, senior stakeholders and external professionals. Experience of business development and mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous, alongside a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
