We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Platform SME to take ownership of a critical enterprise SharePoint environment. This role will act as the technical authority for the SharePoint platform, ensuring the stability, performance, and ongoing development of both on-premises and cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in platform support, troubleshooting complex issues, and leading upgrade and migration initiatives, including the transition from SharePoint 2019 to SharePoint Subscription Edition.
Key Responsibilities
*Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the SharePoint platform.
*Provide 3rd Line support for complex SharePoint-related incidents and service requests.
*Support, maintain, and optimise SharePoint Server 2019, SharePoint Subscription Edition, and SharePoint Online environments.
*Lead platform upgrades, patching activities, and migration projects.
*Manage and support SharePoint Search services, ensuring optimal search performance and user experience.
*Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure, and application issues across the SharePoint estate.
*Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to maintain platform availability and performance.
*Monitor platform health and implement best practices for governance, security, and operational excellence.
*Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards, and support procedures.
*Provide technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders and project teams.
Skills & Experience
*Strong hands-on experience supporting SharePoint Server 2019.
*Experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE).
*Knowledge of SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 environments.
*Proven experience administering and supporting large-scale SharePoint farms.
*Strong understanding of:*SharePoint Search Services
*Managed Metadata Services
*User Profile Services
*Content Databases
*Distributed Cache
*Experience troubleshooting complex SharePoint platform and infrastructure issues.
*Knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, and supporting SharePoint technologies.
*Experience delivering SharePoint upgrades, migrations, and platform improvements.
*Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
