Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school based in central Stockport. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting a child on a 1:1 basis who has complex SEND requirements and challenging behaviour.
The successful candidate will be confident, patient and resilient, with a strong understanding of how to support children with additional needs and challenging behaviour in a primary school setting.
The Role:*Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex SEND and challenging behaviour.
*Supporting the child with their learning, emotional regulation and engagement throughout the school day.
*Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to implement appropriate strategies and support.
*Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:*Previous experience working with children in a 1:1 capacity.
*Experience supporting children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
*Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour management.
*Confident working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
*Team Teach qualification is highly desirable, although not essential.
*A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or school-based experience would be advantageous.
