A well-established precision engineering business is looking for an experienced Quality Manager / Lead Inspector to take ownership of its quality function, supporting customers across the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear sectors.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing the Quality function while remaining involved in inspection, metrology and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities*Lead and develop the Quality team
*Maintain and improve AS9100 / ISO9001 systems
*Manage internal, customer and supplier audits
*Handle NCRs, concessions, 8D reports and root cause investigations
*Carry out dimensional inspection and CMM programming
*Lead FAI activities and maintain quality documentation
*Manage calibration and supplier quality
*Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong quality culture
Requirements*Previous Quality experience within precision engineering/manufacturing
*Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001
*Experience within Aerospace, Defence or Nuclear desirable
*Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances
*Strong metrology/CMM experience
*Experience with NCRs, 8D and root cause analysis
*Previous leadership or team-leading experience
Desirable: AS9102 knowledge, machining/welding experience, ERP/MRP experience and internal auditor training.
