About the RoleOur client is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Operative to join their property maintenance team in Hertfordshire. This is a hands-on position responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of residential properties, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
The successful candidate will have experience across multiple trades, take pride in delivering quality workmanship, and be able to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across residential properties.
*Complete a variety of repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work, decorating, and general property maintenance.
*Diagnose faults and carry out effective, high-quality repairs.
*Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and building regulations.
*Manage your workload efficiently to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and deadlines.
*Maintain accurate records of completed works, compliance checks, and materials used.
*Communicate effectively with tenants, clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure maintenance issues are resolved promptly.
*Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
*Support colleagues where required and contribute to a positive team environment.
*Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards of workmanship at all times.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
*Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance, construction, or property repairs role.
*Competence across a range of trades, including plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work, and general maintenance.
*A good understanding of building maintenance, health and safety legislation, and relevant regulations.
*Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
*The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage your own workload.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*A practical approach and willingness to undertake manual work.
*A full UK driving licence and access to your own suitable vehicle (essential).
Desirable*City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent trade qualifications.
*CSCS Card, First Aid qualification, or other relevant Health & Safety certifications.
