Full job descriptionFindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established global logistics business with the recruitment of a Transport Planner.
Permanent, full-time position based in Northampton, working Sunday to Thursday, 6:00pm – 3:00am.
This is a busy operational role responsible for planning and coordinating short-distance deliveries and collections, ensuring vehicles, drivers and routes are organised efficiently for the following day.

Key Responsibilities
*Plan and coordinate delivery and collection routes for next-day operations.
*Arrange vehicles and liaise with local hauliers where required.
*Coordinate driver workloads and support daily dispatch operations.
*Manage transport data, delivery information and operational systems throughout the shift.
*Monitor vehicle arrivals and ensure freight is dispatched efficiently.
*Prepare next-day collection and delivery schedules.
*Support warehouse and transport teams with fleet availability and load planning changes.
*Complete transport administration accurately and within deadlines.
*Communicate with drivers, depots and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
*Ensure a high level of customer service, efficiency and transport compliance.
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience within transport planning, logistics or a busy traffic office environment.
*Good understanding of transport operations and UK geography.
*Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
*Confident using transport systems and general IT applications.
*Strong communication and customer service skills.
*Able to make quick decisions and solve operational problems.
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
*Proactive, organised and able to work to strict deadlines.
