Full job descriptionMERITUS are recruiting for a Fabricator / Welder to join our client within the Systems Integration sphere to support clients across Aerospace, Manufacturing, FMCG and Agriculture.
FABRICATOR / WELDER - £28,000 - £35,000 PER ANNUM - TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE - FAST PROCESS - SECTOR: AEROSPACE / SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
You’ll be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality parts to tight tolerances.
The role involves both fabrication and welding activities, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities*Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal components.
*Carry out sheet metal forming and bending, including correct bend allowance calculations.
*Perform MIG welding (and TIG or spot welding where required).
*Manufacture components to tight dimensional tolerances.
*Ensure all fabricated parts meet required quality standards with minimal rework.
*Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
*Support wider production and fabrication activities as required by the Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
About YouWe’re looking for a skilled fabricator with strong hands-on experience in sheet metal work and welding.
You’ll ideally have:
*Proven experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
*Strong MIG welding experience (TIG/spot welding beneficial).
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
*Good understanding of bend allowances, tolerances and material behaviour.
*Ability to work accurately to tight specifications.
*NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent) desirable.
