The Opportunity
A forward-thinking and growing accountancy practice based in Wickford is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while supporting junior team members and building strong client relationships.
Working closely with the Partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse range of SMEs, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
*Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts.
*Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns.
*Overseeing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments.
*Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
*Acting as the main point of contact for client queries.
*Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
*Identifying opportunities to add value and provide additional services.
*Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
About You
*ACA, ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.
*Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
*Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
*Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
*Confident communicating directly with business owners and stakeholders.
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
*Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
