Junior Accountant | Independent Accountancy Practice
Location: Hertford, Hertfordshire
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An established independent accountancy practice in Hertford is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join its friendly and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified, AAT studier or early-stage ACCA/ACA student looking to broaden their experience across bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and accounts preparation whilst working closely with experienced Partners.
The firm supports a diverse client portfolio ranging from owner-managed businesses through to larger groups across sectors including manufacturing, consultancy, IT and marketing.
The Role
Working alongside senior accountants and Partners, you will assist with:
*Bookkeeping and client record processing
*VAT returns and MTD submissions
*Bank reconciliations and journal postings
*Assisting with year-end accounts preparation
*Processing records through Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
*Supporting payroll when required
*Liaising with clients and resolving queries
*Managing workload to meet client deadlines
The Ideal Candidate
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
*Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
*Bookkeeping and VAT return experience
*Knowledge of Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
*Strong attention to detail
*Excellent communication skills
*A positive and proactive attitude
