Our client, a well-established not-for-profit organisation in Swindon, is seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Worker to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable individuals, helping them achieve stability and independence in a dynamic, community-focused environment.
Key Details:
*Hourly Rate: £14.25 per hour
*Contract: 3-month contract
*Requirement: DBS on the Update Service required due to immediate start date
What you’ll be doing:
*Providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness
*Developing personalised action plans to promote stability and independence
*Assisting clients with housing applications, benefit claims, and accessing community services
*Conducting outreach to engage clients and build trusting relationships
*Maintaining accurate, confidential case records in line with organisational policies
*Collaborating with local agencies to coordinate support services
*Empowering clients to achieve their personal goals
*Participating in team meetings and contributing to service improvements
What you’ll bring:
*Experience in homelessness support, social care, or related fields is desirable
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse clients
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
*Knowledge of local housing, welfare systems, benefits, and support services
*Resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure
