Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE + Performance Bonus


THE OPPORTUNITY
EliCay Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Head of Finance to join a growing, privately owned group of businesses based in Gravesend, Kent.
The Group operates with an annual turnover of approximately £20m and ambitious plans for continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to take full ownership of the finance function, work closely with the Managing Director and progress towards becoming Finance Director.
Initially operating in a hands-on, sole charge capacity, you will manage everything from day-to-day accounting and management accounts through to cash flow, financial control and commercial reporting.
As the business expands, you will have the opportunity to recruit and develop your own finance team.
This is a fully office-based position in Gravesend, working Monday to Friday.
THE ROLE
*Take ownership of the finance function across multiple Group companies
*Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reporting
*Manage cash flow, working capital, credit control, VAT, CIS and payroll
*Analyse project, contract and divisional profitability to identify opportunities to improve margins
*Provide commercial insight and financial advice to the Managing Director
*Improve financial systems, Sage reporting, processes and controls
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
*Experience as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Finance Director
*ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, or a finalist with substantial senior-level experience
*Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience
*Experience managing finances across multiple companies or within a Group structure
*Comfortable managing both transactional accounting and strategic financial responsibilities
*Strong Excel and accounting systems skills, ideally including Sage
Previous experience within construction, engineering or plant hire would be advantageous but is not essential.
The business would also consider an experienced Finance Director looking for a new opportunity, with the possibility of joining at that level.
