Full job descriptionPrimary Green Spaces Officer
*Green Spaces Officer Ensure that all activities under the post holder’s control are undertaken in such a way as to maintain proper Health and Safety standards and are in line with the Council’s Health and Safety policies, including the preparation and review of risk assessments and/or risk/benefit analyses.
*Green Spaces Officer Organise and coordinate improvement projects in parks, playgrounds, open spaces, and allotments, ensuring they are completed on time and to budget.
*Liaise with the in-house grounds’ maintenance team to discuss standards of work, supply technical guidance and to encourage best practice.
*Liasise and work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders; relevant internal departments such as Community Services, Councillors, external agencies, friends groups, residents, contractors and businesses to deliver deliver strategic goals and advise from an operational perspective.
*Support our ground maintenance teams, Green Space colleagues, Tree team and volunteers in occasional on-site, practical conservation work, planting, and habitat creation.
*Supervise contractors and volunteers on a wide range of schemes and projects to improve the value of the Borough’s green spaces.
*Assist in the development of management plans for various parks and greenspaces
*Assist in the managemnt of events when as required
