A secondary school is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join its teaching team in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, delivering English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a full teaching commitment suited to a qualified professional who can take responsibility for planning, teaching, assessment and pupil progress.
The position provides the opportunity to work within a structured secondary school environment, teaching pupils across the relevant key stages and contributing fully to the wider responsibilities expected of a classroom teacher.






What You Will Be Responsible For...The successful candidate will take ownership of their teaching timetable and will be expected to:
*Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
*Teach the English curriculum in line with departmental expectations
*Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations where applicable
*Assess and monitor pupil progress
*Provide clear and constructive feedback
*Adapt teaching to support different abilities and learning needs
*Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
*Contribute to departmental planning and development
*Work collaboratively with colleagues
*Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and other professionals
*Follow safeguarding, attendance and school policies
This is not simply a lesson-cover position. The successful applicant will be expected to take full responsibility for their classes and contribute as a member of the wider teaching team.






Person Requirements:You should have:
Essential
*Qualified Teacher Status or recognised equivalent
*Strong subject knowledge in English
*Experience teaching at secondary level
*Experience delivering KS3 and/or KS4 English
*Strong classroom management
*A clear understanding of assessment and pupil progress
*Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
Desirable
*GCSE English teaching experience
*Experience preparing pupils for examinations
*Previous experience within a secondary school department
