£50,000 - £60,000 | Fully Remote | UK
We’re working with a specialist cyber security consultancy that delivers technical security work across critical national infrastructure and other high-consequence environments.
They’re looking for a Technical Cyber Security Consultant who combines broad security knowledge with genuine hands-on technical capability. This isn’t a purely advisory or assessment-focused position. You’ll identify security weaknesses, help clients understand the risk, and then get involved in implementing the solution.
The roleYou’ll work across a varied range of client projects, including:
*Designing, deploying and configuring security controls including firewalls, EDR, SIEM, IAM and cloud security tooling
*Supporting penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and technical security reviews
*Turning assessment findings into practical remediation plans and helping clients implement them
*Hardening Windows, Linux, network and cloud environments
*Building scripts, automation and internal security tooling
*Working with standards and guidance such as CIS Benchmarks, NCSC and ISO 27001
*Communicating technical risks and recommendations to both technical teams and senior stakeholders
What we’re looking forYou’ll ideally have:
*2+ years’ experience within cyber security, security engineering, infrastructure or a similar technical environment
*Broad knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls and VPNs
*Experience across Windows/Linux administration and Active Directory/identity
*Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS or GCP
*Hands-on experience implementing and configuring security solutions, rather than solely assessing them
*Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell or Bash
