Year 2 Primary Teacher – The role
*Year 2 Primary Teacher
*Camden, North London
*Primary school
*Long-term, full-time role through agency
*ASAP start
*Monday to Friday, full-time hours
*Teaching a Year 2 class
*Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
*Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
*Working closely with the wider school team


Year 2 Primary Teacher - Key Responsibilities
As a Year 2 Primary Teacher, you will:
*Plan and deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons for a Year 2 class.
*Deliver the full primary curriculum, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
*Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
*Support pupils to make strong academic progress and achieve their full potential.
*Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where appropriate.
*Differentiate learning activities to support pupils of all abilities.
*Promote positive behaviour and high expectations throughout the classroom.
*Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
*Support pupils’ social and emotional development.
*Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
*Contribute to planning, assessment and school-wide activities where required.


Year 2 Primary Teacher - About You
The successful Year 2 Primary Teacher will have:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — desirable/essential depending on experience.
*Previous experience teaching within a primary school.
*Experience teaching Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2 — desirable.
*Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
*A creative and engaging approach to teaching and learning.
*Excellent classroom management skills.
*Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*A positive, nurturing and inclusive approach.
*Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
*A proactive and flexible approach to school life.
*A genuine passion for helping children learn, develop and achieve their potential.
