North Birmingham - Office & Field Based | Growing MSP
Leading Voice & Network Engineering Within a Leading IT / Cloud Services MSP Environment
£45,000-£50,000 p.a. + On-Call & Paid OT + Strong Package

Are you a 2nd/3rd Line Voice & Network Engineer looking for more variety and responsibility? Want to work across VoIP, networking, connectivity, security, site design, installations and Cyber Essentials rather than being tied to a service desk? This could be an excellent next move.

An established and growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) is looking for a Senior Voice & Network Engineer to become a key technical specialist within its team.

The Role

This is a genuinely varied, hands-on position covering 2nd and 3rd line support, technical projects and client-facing engineering. You’ll work across:
*Hosted voice and VoIP solutions
*Network design, connectivity and security
*Site surveys, installations and configuration
*SBCs and carrier integrations
*Complex fault finding and root-cause analysis
*Cyber Essentials assessments
*Technical pre-sales and solution design
*New technology and vendor evaluation
*Technologies including Gamma iPECS Cloud, Wildix/x-bees, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti UniFi, SBCs and Colt connectivity.
Voice & Networking
*You’ll need strong practical knowledge of; SIP | RTP | Codecs | QoS | NAT | Routing | Switching | VLANs | Firewalls | Wi-Fi
*You’ll also be comfortable using Wireshark or similar to get to the root cause of complex voice and network issues.
*You’ll be involved from the beginning-surveying sites, designing solutions, installing and configuring equipment and providing ongoing support.
Cyber Security

A major part of the role will be becoming a Cyber Essentials assessor, carrying out assessments for clients as part of an accredited Certification Body.

Already qualified - Great! Not yet qualified? The company will fund the training and certification. There is also a progression route towards Cyber Essentials Plus.

Who Are We Looking For?

You’ll ideally have:
*2nd/3rd Line Voice & Network experience within an MSP, telco or communications environment
*Strong networking knowledge across routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls and Wi-Fi
*Hands-on hosted voice/VoIP experience
*Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, codecs, QoS and NAT
*Site survey and installation experience
*A full UK driving licence
*Experience with SBCs, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, Wildix, Gamma iPECS, CCNA, SD-WAN/SASE or pre-sales would be advantageous.
*Can manage their own workload and see issues through.
*Can talk technical with engineers and explain the same issue clearly to clients.
This isn’t a fully remote, desk-only engineering role. You’ll be based in the office with national client travel, giving you genuine variety in your week.
