Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Light Vehicle Technician to join a growing commercial vehicle workshop in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of vehicles and trailers. Diagnostic experience is advantageous, and HGV licence training may be available after 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:
*Service, maintain and repair HGVs, light vehicles and trailers.
*Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
*Prepare vehicles for MOT.
*Attend roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles.
*Complete job cards and service documentation accurately.
*Liaise with the parts department to source required parts.
*Maintain high standards of cleanliness and workshop safety.
*Follow all Health & Safety and customer site requirements.
*Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and attend training courses.
Skills and Experience:
*City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, or proven relevant experience.
*Previous motor trade experience within the last 2 years.
*Experience working on HGVs and/or light vehicles.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*HGV Licence desirable but not essential.
*Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Good communication and customer service skills.
*Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
*Flexible approach to working hours and duties.
*Own tools required.
