Full job descriptionRG Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a successful company based in Liverpool to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Finance Professional to grow their career within a successful and well-established SME business.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Take overall responsibility for the firm’s financial control function.
*Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
*Lead the month-end and year-end processes.
*Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and support the annual audit process.
*Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow forecasting.
*Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to Partners and directors.
*Ensure compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, HMRC requirements and relevant regulations.
*Oversee VAT returns and other tax-related reporting.
*Manage and review balance sheet reconciliations, journals and general ledger activity.
*Provide financial information and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
*Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.
*Lead and develop a growing finance team of 4.
*Work closely with Partners, fee earners and senior stakeholders across the business.
*Drive improvements in finance systems and reporting processes.
*Assist with financial projects and other ad hoc commercial analysis as required.
The ideal candidate:
*At least 2 years’ experience within a senior finance position
*ACCA/ CIMA part/ Qualified is preferred but not a necessity
*2 years’ experience within legal or professional services environment
