Full job descriptionReed Finance are exclusively partnered with an international business based in the West Sussex area who are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead its UK finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining hands-on financial leadership with strategic business partnering.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will lead a small finance team whilst taking ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance and commercial financial support across the business.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead, develop and mentor a small finance team
*Oversee month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
*Prepare and present monthly financial reports to senior stakeholders
*Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
*Drive profitability through effective business partnering and financial analysis
*Lead the annual audit process and statutory reporting requirements
*Manage payroll review and approval processes
*Oversee pension schemes, employee benefits and related regulatory returns
*Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, insurers and external partners
*Support the implementation of accounting standards and process improvements
*Work closely with operational and project teams to provide commercial financial insight
About You
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
*Previous experience in a senior finance leadership role
*Strong technical accounting knowledge
*Proven experience managing and developing finance teams
*Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting skills
*Commercially minded with strong business partnering capabilities
*Experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP
*Advanced Excel skills
*Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
*Proactive, analytical and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
*Experience gained in the engineering or manufacturing sector
