The Opportunity
An established and growing accountancy practice in Braintree is seeking an ambitious Accounts & Audit Semi Senior to join its friendly and professional team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accountancy practice experience who is looking to further develop their technical skills while working with a varied portfolio of clients. The firm offers a supportive environment, exposure to both accounts and audit work, and clear progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
*Assisting with audit assignments from planning through to completion
*Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of SME and owner-managed business clients
*Completing bookkeeping and VAT return work
*Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax computations
*Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
*Working closely with managers and seniors to deliver assignments efficiently
*Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
*Supporting and contributing to a collaborative team environment
About You
*Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
*Exposure to both accounts preparation and audit assignments
*AAT qualified or currently studying ACA or ACCA
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Good working knowledge of Excel and cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
*Motivated to learn and progress within a growing practice
