Reed Finance are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional seeking a broad role with exposure to financial reporting, forecasting, business partnering and operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the business deliver accurate financial information and support strategic decision-making
Reporting into the senior finance team, the Management Accountant will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing valuable financial analysis to stakeholders across the business. The role also offers involvement in cashflow forecasting, VAT compliance, audit support and process improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
*Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
*Production of financial analysis, reporting packs and board information.
*Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of accounting discrepancies.
*Supporting annual budgets, forecasts and rolling cashflow reporting.
*Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
*Assisting with audit requirements and maintaining robust financial controls.
*Supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger and wider finance administration activities.
*Working closely with operational teams to support business performance and service delivery
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a Management Accountant position and possess strong technical accounting knowledge combined with excellent attention to detail.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
*Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
*Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
*Experience completing balance sheet reconciliations.
*Understanding of VAT and financial compliance requirements.
*Strong Excel and accounting system skills.
*Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
*The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
*AAT qualification or active ACCA/CIMA studies would be advantageous.
