Looking for your next step in audit? Want to join an award-winning accountancy practice where you can develop your technical skills, gain exposure to a varied client portfolio and enjoy a genuinely healthy work-life balance?
We’re working with a friendly, down-to-earth independent accountancy practice in Leeds that is looking to add a Semi-Senior Auditor to its growing team.
This is a great opportunity to join a firm that puts learning and development at the heart of what it does, while offering the flexibility and support that can sometimes be missing in practice.
Why join?
*Award-winning firm: Join an established practice with a reputation for quality and a varied client base.
*Excellent learning culture: Develop your audit and accounts experience in a supportive environment where you’re encouraged to learn and progress.
*Work-life balance: Little to no overtime, with occasional additional hours when required.
*Flexible working: Hybrid working and flexible start and finish times, with core hours between 10am and 4pm.
*Great benefits: 25 days’ annual leave, your birthday off, bank holidays, a free on-site gym, pension and death-in-service cover.
*Study support: Support towards professional qualifications, including ACA, ACCA and AAT.
The role
You’ll work across a varied portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for key areas of audit assignments while continuing to build your technical knowledge and confidence.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Completing the majority of sections within audit files.
*Taking responsibility for smaller company audits, with support from more senior colleagues where needed.
*Assisting with statutory accounts preparation.
*Drafting tax computations.
*Working with a diverse client base, including businesses with turnovers ranging from approximately £10m to £300m.
The role is predominantly audit-focused, with around 80% of your time spent on audit and 20% on accounts.
What are they looking for?
*Experience working within an accountancy practice, ideally an independent firm.
*Around 2–3 years’ relevant experience, although the quality of your experience is just as important as the number of years.
*Exposure to audit and accounts preparation.
*Someone keen to develop their technical ability and take on increasing responsibility.
*A team player who enjoys working in a friendly, collaborative environment.
The benefits
*Salary of £27,000–£30,000.
*Hybrid working.
*Flexible working hours, with core hours of 10am–4pm.
*25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays and your birthday off.
*3% employer pension contribution after three months.
*Death-in-service cover of four times salary after 12 months.
*Employee Assistance Programme, including some health-related benefits.
*Free on-site gym.
*Study support and paid study leave arrangements.
If you’re looking for a practice that will invest in your development while giving you the flexibility to enjoy life outside work, this could be a great next step.
