Hays Education is currently supporting a large and welcoming school in the HD7 area of Huddersfield that requires a reliable and proactive Caretaker to provide temporary cover on an ongoing basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy school environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and well-maintained for staff and pupils.
The Role Temporary Caretaker Position
Start ASAP
Monday to Friday
Early Morning Starts Required
Full-Time Hours
Based in the HD7 Area
Key Responsibilities
*Opening and securing the school site
*Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs
*Health & safety checks across the premises
*General site upkeep and cleanliness
*Supporting with contractor access and site management
*Responding to day-to-day maintenance issues
*Ensuring the school remains a safe and welcoming environment
What We’re Looking For Previous school caretaker/site supervisor experience is highly desirable
Existing Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred
Good DIY and maintenance skills
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
Available to start immediately
