Hays are partnering with a growing and purpose-driven organisation operating to recruit a Financial Accountant. Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring high-quality financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity environment.Key responsibilities will include:
*Leading and coordinating statutory audits across multiple entities.
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
*Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and overseas accounting teams.
*Taking ownership of VAT reporting and supporting wider tax compliance activities.
*Reviewing accounting records and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
*Supporting the delivery of consolidated and group reporting requirements.
*Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting quality.
*Acting as a trusted finance contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a technically strong and proactive finance professional with the confidence to operate independently and manage competing priorities.
You will ideally have:
*ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
*Strong technical accounting knowledge.
*Experience preparing and/or reviewing statutory accounts.
*Audit experience, either gained in practice or industry.
*Knowledge of VAT and corporation tax.
*Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
*The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of key deliverables.
