Job Description:
Full job descriptionYour new company
A well-established manufacturing business is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of an Electrical Maintenance Technician. Operating within a fast-paced production environment, the company is committed to investing in its people, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering reliable manufacturing operations.
Your new role
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns across a range of production machinery and equipment. You will work closely with production teams to minimise downtime, provide technical support, and help improve equipment reliability. The role will also involve completing small improvement projects, maintaining maintenance records through a CMMS, participating in a call-out rota, and supporting other shifts when required.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have a recognised electrical qualification such as an apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or City & Guilds Level 3 in an industrial electrical discipline, along with your 18th Edition qualification. You will have strong fault-finding skills within a manufacturing environment and experience working with electrical control panels, PLC-controlled machinery, inverters, and pneumatics. The ability to read electrical and pneumatic drawings is essential, while experience with PLC modifications, instrumentation, process control systems, and AC/DC drives would be advantageous.
What you’ll get in return
In return, you’ll join a stable and supportive engineering team where ongoing training and development are available. The role offers a competitive salary depending on experience, a company pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, overtime opportunities for additional shift cover, and additional payments for participating in the call-out rota. You’ll also benefit from a favourable Monday to Friday days-based shift pattern.
