Your new company is a leader in their field based in Nottingham and are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
*Lead and manage the finance function, providing guidance and support to the wider finance team.
*Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting within agreed deadlines.
*Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records.
*Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital and treasury activities.
*Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
*Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements including VAT and corporation tax.
*Coordinate year-end audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
*Review and improve financial processes, systems and controls to drive efficiency and scalability.
*Provide commercial and financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives.
*Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to challenge performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
*Support business growth, acquisitions, system implementations and change projects as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
*Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
*Previous manufacturing experience is beneficial.
*Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
*Proven ability to produce management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
*Experience managing or mentoring finance staff.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
*Organised, proactive and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
