Job Description:
Full job descriptionPrivate Client Fee Earner – Established Regional Practice | Competitive Salary
An established regional law firm with multiple offices and a long-standing client base is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its growing department. This is a rare opportunity to step into a stable, well-supported team with genuine long-term prospects, clear succession planning and access to an extensive existing caseload.
A Supportive, Balanced Working Culture
The firm is known for its exceptional staff retention and team-focused culture. Senior practitioners have remained with the practice for decades, reflecting the supportive environment and strong internal development pathways. Work-life balance is genuinely prioritised: partners lead by example, there is no expectation to work beyond contracted hours, and staff take a full lunch break. Monthly caseload reviews ensure workloads remain manageable and aligned with agreed limits.
The Team
The Private Client department is led by two long-serving senior practitioners and includes a trainee solicitor, a CILEX-qualified fee earner, a newly qualified solicitor and a paralegal who has progressed internally. This appointment will replace a retiring senior practitioner and strengthen the department’s experienced middle-to-senior tier. The role offers clear scope for increased responsibility and future leadership.
The Role
You will take on and develop an established caseload supported by a substantial client database built over many years – no need to build a practice from scratch.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing an established private client caseload and delivering high-quality advice
*Nurturing long-standing client relationships and contributing to departmental growth
*Supervising and mentoring junior colleagues, supporting their technical development
*Working collaboratively with senior practitioners to ensure a smooth succession process
*Developing towards increased departmental responsibility and potential future team leadership
Salary & Benefits
*Competitive salary reflecting experience and seniority
*Achievable bonus scheme offering meaningful additional earnings
*Hybrid working (up to two days from home)
*Genuine work-life balance with no expectation to work beyond contracted hours
*Monthly caseload monitoring to maintain sustainable workloads
Ideal Candidate
*Experienced Private Client Fee Earner, ideally 5+ years’ PQE (strong 3+ PQE candidates considered)
*Background in established regional practices
*Collaborative team player with a supportive approach
*Willingness to supervise, mentor and share knowledge
*Interest in long-term development and potential future leadership
*Genuine desire to build a long-term career within a close-knit department
If you’re an experienced Private Client Fee Earner seeking a stable, supportive environment with real progression potential, this opportunity offers everything needed to thrive. Apply today to explore a long-term role within a respected regional practice.
