Job Description:
Full job descriptionFindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established automotive dealership with the recruitment of a Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester.
Permanent, full-time position based in Ipswich.
Salary
£29,000 – £37,000, depending on experience + monthly productivity bonus + overtime + qualification payments
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join a well-established workshop offering manufacturer training, strong progression and a Monday-to-Friday working pattern with no weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out servicing and routine vehicle maintenance.
*Complete MOT testing in line with current standards.
*Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
*Undertake mechanical and electrical repair work.
*Complete brake, steering and suspension repairs.
*Carry out timing belt, clutch and engine work.
*Complete vehicle health checks using digital reporting systems.
*Prepare approved used vehicles for sale.
*Carry out road testing where required.
*Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Skills & Experience
*NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
*Current MOT Tester licence – Class 4 or Class 7 is preferred
*Previous experience within a franchised dealership or independent workshop.
*Strong diagnostics and fault-finding ability.
*Good mechanical and electrical repair skills.
*Full UK driving licence.
*Manufacturer-specific experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.

*£29,000 – £37,000 basic salary depending on experience.

*Additional qualification payments for further technical accreditation.
*Manufacturer training, including hybrid and EV development.
*Clear progression to Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician and Master Technician level.
*30 days’ holiday including bank holidays, increasing with service.
