Full job descriptionFindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Buyer.
Permanent, full-time position based in York.
Salary
£30,000 – £35,000, depending on experience + additional benefits
This is a varied supply chain and procurement role supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations, supplier performance and purchasing activity within a specialist manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage and monitor supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
*Maintain effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
*Support sourcing activity for new product development.
*Benchmark existing suppliers, products and services to achieve best value.
*Maintain and review the Approved Suppliers List.
*Support indirect purchasing activity across the business.
*Monitor open purchase orders and expedite deliveries where required.
*Help ensure materials and components are available to support production requirements.
*Support supplier reviews and ongoing supply chain improvement.
*Work closely with the Factory Manager and wider Operations team.
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience within supply chain, purchasing, procurement or a similar operational role.
*Manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous.
*Strong organisation and attention to detail.
*Confident communicating with suppliers and internal departments.
*Good Microsoft Office skills.
*Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
*Knowledge of logistics, transport, import or export procedures would be beneficial.
*Experience working within a B2B environment would be useful.
*CIPS Level 4 or equivalent would be advantageous but is not essential.
