More about your role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a Retirement Living development, ensuring a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment for customers. A key focus of the role will be overseeing health and safety compliance within the development, carrying out regular inspections, identifying and reporting risks, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring all statutory checks and compliance requirements are completed and accurately recorded.
You will manage the lettings process for vacant properties, including conducting viewings, completing tenancy sign-ups, coordinating void turnaround activities, and working closely with internal teams to minimise void loss and ensure homes are ready for new customers as quickly as possible.
The role also involves supporting customers to sustain successful tenancies by providing housing management support, promoting independence, signposting customers to relevant support services, addressing tenancy-related concerns, and fostering positive relationships within the development.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records through the organisation’s housing management systems, ensuring all customer interactions, health and safety actions, tenancy information, compliance activities and property management tasks are recorded in line with organisational policies and audit requirements.
The role is based over 2 locations, based 3 days each week at our Drum Court in Gilmerton (EH17 8QE) and 2 days each week at Heinsberg House in Penicuik (EH26 8NH). You must be able to travel to both locations.
More about you
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, IT, and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and love working with people, especially the elderly. They should be well organised, able to manage competing priorities, understand financial processes, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Ideally you will have knowledge or experience of working with the elderly, housing and building management/health & safety knowledge or experience – but this isn’t essential.
